TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – One day after Indonesian President Yudhoyono (SBY) officially launched his Facebook fanpage, users from all over the country flooded the page with various comments.
Their comments range from promoting their personal blogs until protests against government policies. The uploaded pictures have also generated many comments.
The picture of Yudhoyono with UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, for example, has attracted around 376 comments as of Saturday, July 6, 2013.
Several users also comment on the temporary direct cash assistance (BLSM) program to compensate the raised fuel price. Several others even complain about Yudhoyono\’s indecisive stands in running the government.
\”When will Indonesia impose heavy punishment for corruptors?\” says user Drg. Bima Ewando Kaban. In the meantime, a cynical comment from an account named Nuryani HA is directed to the First Lady\’s photography hobby, \”Madame, why don\’t you just sell the camera and give the money for those who haven\’t received the BLSM funds?,\” comments the user.
However, quite a few users also praise Yudhoyono through their comments. \”Mr. SBY, you\’re the best. Keep up the good work!\” said Chayana Yunita Djaga.
Apparently, the fanpage has also attracted users with tacky and cheesy account names and those who want to sell items online.
President Yudhoyono officially launched his Facebook fanpage at Bogor Presidential Palace on Friday. The fanpage is named Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Just like his Twitter account, the fanpage is also administrated by Presidential special staffs and any posting directly coming from the President himself will be marked with *SBY*.
In his first ever Facebook status, Yudhoyono expressed his delight for joining Facebook. \”Today, I joined Facebook, Youtube and Google Hangout,\” Yudhoyono wrote. \”I want to expand my interaction and direct communication with the Indonesian people,\” he added.
Yudhoyono also thanked his Twitter followers, who have so far given inputs and critics. \”Though I\’m often subject to bullying,\” he said. As of today, the Facebook fanpage of Yudhoyono has generated 187,010 likes.
