Urgent Appeal regarding the matter of Mr. Roy Ngerng and the Government of Singapore

A coalition of freedom of expression organisations such as Article 19, SEAPA, APC, Safenet, FMA, FDD, KITA, Empower, Asian Forum For Human Rights and Development on behalf of Mr. Roy Ngerng Yi Ling to support his request that an urgent appeal be made by the above named United Nations Special Rapporteurs to the Government of Singapore in respect of alleged violations of Mr. Ngerng’s right to freedom of expression, his right to freedom of peaceful assembly, and his rights as a human rights defender.

Mr. Ngerng is a popular blogger and human rights defender in Singapore, writing on issues of government transparency and accountability. He has also been a prominent organizer and participant in peaceful assemblies in Singapore.
